Tijdens deze rondreis, “Egypte Totaal” wordt u meegenomen langs alle hoogtepunten van het oude en het hedendaagse Egypte. De reis combineert een cruise van 4 nachten over de levensader van Egypte en tevens langste rivier te wereld, de Nijl, een rit per nachttrein naar de hoofdstad Caïro met als afsluiting een verblijf van 2 nachten in deze metropool. Bovendien verblijft u in totaal nog 7 nachten in de badplaats Hurghada. Een must voor elke cultuurliefhebber, waarbij bezoeken aan Luxor, Aswan, Gizeh, Sakkara en Caïro stuk voor stuk hoogtepunten zijn. Vanaf de dag dat u aankomt in Hurghada tot de aanvang van het Nijlcruise programma verblijft u in Hurghada.   • Voor reizen naar Egypte heeft u een visum nodig dat u bij aankomst in Egypte kunt aanschaffen bij de reisleiding. De visumkosten en lokale heffingen bedragen €27,50 p.p.   • Om organisatorische redenen kan het voorkomen dat de volgorde of de begindag van de cruise gewijzigd worden. In sommige gevallen moet er bij Esna ingescheept worden, in verband met eventueel onderhoud aan de sluizen. De inhoud van het programma zal ongewijzigd blijven.

Het van-dag-tot-dag programma: (15 dagen / 14 nachten)

Dag 1: In de ochtend gaat u per bus mee naar Luxor. Na aankomst checkt u in aan boord van uw boot. Lunch. Bezoek Karnak Tempel en de Luxor Tempel, de belangrijkste en indrukwekkendste tempelcomplexen aan de oost oever van de Nijl. De boot blijft in Luxor.

Dag 2: Bezoek aan de Vallei der Koningen met vele graven van oude farao’s, de tempel van koningin Hatsepsut, die de enige vrouwelijke farao van betekenis is geweest en de Kolossen van Memnon. Lunch. Middag vrij te besteden in Luxor. ’s Avonds vertrekt de boot via de Esna sluizen naar Edfu en vaart de nacht door.

Dag 3: Bezoek aan de Horus tempel in Edfu. Na het bezoek aan Edfu heeft u de lunch aan boord en kunt u in de middag genieten van het uitzicht vanaf de boot over de oevers van de Nijl. ’s Avonds een bezoek aan Kom Ombo en diens tempel. Deze tempel is feeëriek verlicht en zal een onvergetelijke indruk bij u achterlaten (afhankelijk van de het jaargetijde kan het bij bezoek nog licht zijn). Tijdens de nacht vaart u naar Aswan.

Dag 4:U bezoekt de Lage Aswandam uit 1902, en de Hoge Aswandam, één van de grootste en indrukwekkendste stuwdammen ter wereld. Vervolgens per kleine boot naar de Philae tempel, schitterend gelegen op een eiland in de Nijl. Lunch. Tocht per Felouka, een traditionele Egyptische zeilboot, over de Nijl, met een bezoek aan Lord Kitschner eiland, waarop zich schitterende prachtige botanische tuinen bevinden.

Dag 5: Mogelijk om een facultatieve excursie naar Abu Simbel per bus of vliegtuig (260 km) te maken (ontbijtpakketjes beschikbaar). Het vertrek is rond 04:00 uur. De tempels in Abu Simbel zijn zeer indrukwekkend en beroemd door het feit dat zij verplaatst zijn na de aanleg van de Hoge Aswandam. Rond het middaguur bent u weer terug in Aswan. Lunch (exclusief). Middag vrij te besteden. Indien u niet mee gaat naar Abu Simbel heeft u de hele dag vrij te besteden. Vroeg in de avond neemt u afscheid van de passagiers die Nijlcruise pakket A hebben geboekt en vertrekt u per nachttrein naar Caïro.

Dag 6: Na aankomst in Gizeh wordt u naar uw hotel gebracht (indien mogelijk wordt er ingecheckt). Mogelijk om een facultatieve excursie naar Memphis, Sakkara en de Piramides te maken. Sakkara, dit is een necropolis (dodenstad) uit het Oude Egypte, ten zuiden van het huidige Caïro. Het bekendste monument in de necropolis is de wereldberoemde trappiramide. Sakkara was in de Egyptische oudheid een grafveld behorend bij de (hoofd)stad Memphis. De eerste piramide in de geschiedenis, de trappiramide van Djoser. Bezoek aan de Sfinx en aan één van de Zeven Wereldwonderen, de piramides van Gizeh.

Dag 7: Mogelijk om een facultatieve excursie naar het Egyptisch Museum, Citadel of Salah Eldin, Alabaster Moskee van Mohamed Ali en de beroemde Khan El Khalili Bazar te maken. Het Egyptische Museum, met o.a. het dodenmasker van Toetanchamon. Lunch (inclusief in excursie). Bezoek aan de Citadel van Saladin, uit de 12e eeuw, de Mohammed Ali Moskee, die met zijn koepels en 80 meter hoge minaretten de stad domineert en de Khan el Khalili bazaar waar een keur aan waren tegen scherpe prijzen te koop is.

Dag 8: In de ochtend per luxe touringcar naar Hurghada, waar u in de loop van de ochtend aan zult komen (ontbijtpakketjes beschikbaar). In Hurghada zult u nog een of meerdere dagen verblijven, afhankelijk van uw vluchtdag.

* Afhankelijk van uw vertrekdag en het geplande vertrek van uw boot kan het voorkomen dat u een of meerdere dagen voorafgaand aan de cruise in Hurghada verblijft en aan het einde van de Nijlcruise de overige dagen uw verblijft in Hurghada vervolgt. Ook kan het voorkomen dat u na aankomst in Egypte direct naar Luxor doorreist waar u aan boord gaat van uw nijlcruise. Tevens kan het voorkomen dat u de eerste week in Hurghada verblijft en dat u de tweede week van uw reis de Nijlcruise maakt waarna u direct zult terug reizen naar Nederland of België. Op deze reisindeling heeft Corendon helaas geen invloed.

Aanschaf visum
Voor reizen naar Egypte heb je een visum nodig dat je bij aankomst in Egypte kunt aanschaffen. Het visum is in de aankomsthal ter plaatse bij de Corendonbalie te verkrijgen voor € 30,- p.p. Dit bedrag kun je alleen in euro’s afrekenen en is inclusief de servicekosten. Wanneer je een visum bij de Corendonbalie ter plaatse aanschaft, krijg je een kortingsvoucher van € 5 voor het boeken van een excursie bij de reisleiding tijdens de welkomstbijeenkomst.
Indien je ervoor kiest om zelf ter plaatse het visum te regelen is dat ook mogelijk. Belgische paspoorthouders dienen ook nog twee extra pasfoto's mee te nemen.
